Overview

The stainless steel, in-line continuous flow cell uniformly processes low-viscosity solutions at a rate of up to 10 gal / hr (38 l / hr).  Inside the flow cell, the sample passes through a zone of intense ultrasonic activity.  The degree of processes is controlled by varying the amplitude of the ultrasonic horn as well as the flow rate.  Solutions may be recirculated for improved processing, if necessary.

The continuous flow attachment incorporates a cooling jacket through which a cooling liquid can be circulated to dissipate heat during extended operation.  The attachment may also be sealed in a closed system to ensure sterile conditions when working with infectious materials.

Typical applications include:

• Productions of vaccines or antigens
• Emulsification of immiscible liquids
• Removal of cell walls
• Dispersing metal oxides in solvents

The continuous flow attachment is compatible with the S-250, S-450, SFX250, and SFX550 model Sonifiers®.
