Features

  • Drying and printing are performed simultaneously. This is a heater that can upgrade the upper cover of the AMS. Compared to the traditional printing process using the AMS, which requires drying before printing, the upgraded version allows for simultaneous printing and drying.
  • Unique Air Duct Design. The innovative airflow system directs heat to circulate precisely around the filament area, ensuring efficient drying while protecting the AMS feeding motor from high temperatures. This design may also cause slight temperature and humidity differences between electronic components.
  • High-efficiency heating with uniform temperature distribution, reaching 70°C within 20 minutes. The dual airflow design ensures even heat circulation, preventing localized overheating of materials and effectively reducing the risk of thermal deformation.
  • High compatibility: After upgrading to the AMS Heater, it supports stacked 16-color printing and saves space. Upgrades the heater for the AMS Generation 1 upper cover, seamlessly integrating with the Generation 1 seal strip and fully compatible with the Generation 1 seal preservation function.
  • Simple upgrade process: Loosen—disassemble—tighten, completed in just 2 minutes.
  • Intelligent humidity monitoring:
① Humidity mode default heating temperature: 55°C—users can adjust and save the temperature.
② Default operating time: 6 hours.
③ After the countdown ends, the device does not shut down; it automatically starts heating when humidity rises to 50% and stops heating when humidity drops to 20%.
④ In rH mode, users can adjust humidity (range: 25%–50%).
After adjustment, the humidity automatically starts using this set value.
  • Safe and Reliable: PTC heating. Dual-level protection with a temperature control switch. Software-based intelligent temperature control, real-time temperature monitoring, and automatic control of the heating system. Maximum drying temperature of 70°C. Alarms are triggered when the temperature exceeds the set value by 10°C, when the temperature fails to rise, or when the fan malfunctions. The device operates according to the set time and automatically shuts down when the time reaches zero.

About the rH Mode

When the AMS heater is in "rH Mode", the display screen will remain on after the countdown ends, and the "Time" indicator will show "Close".
In "rH Mode", the default humidity threshold is set to 50%. When the humidity exceeds 50%, the AMS heater will start heating.
Users can adjust the activation threshold for "rH Mode" within a range of 25% to 50%, depending on their needs.
For example, if set to 25%, the heater will activate once the humidity exceeds 25%. When the humidity drops to 20%, the AMS heater will stop heating and switch to standby mode.

Sturdy tool for improving coffee distribution
Color: Black
For those who do not know what this tool does: The Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT) is a distribution method for espresso making, by which you use the tool to stir the coffee while it sits in the portafilter. You should use a portafilter funnel of the same size to avoid spilling grinds. The stirring action breaks up clumps and evens out the density of coffee within the puck. The result is reduced channeling and more even extractions. Who needs this tool: Those without a conical burr grinder, where the oil and variety of grind sizing may cause clumping, will benefit from this tool. Those with a decent conical burr grinder will find minimal benefit from this tool. I'm using a Breville Pro and do not see a huge improvement myself, for example. Quality: The build quality of this tool is excellent. You can add from one to seven needles, with many folks saying three is the sweet spot for best distribution. I've been using it for over a month and none of the needles have bent. The stand is solid aluminum and well-made, but it doubles as a protector of the needles. I just clean with a quick rinse and a wipe before returning it to its stand. Outcome: I did not realize most of the info above until after purchase. So my puck is solid, the pull is clean, and my coffee tastes great with a Breville Pro. However, this tool has a minimal amount to do with that. It is a worthwhile tool for those with a lower-end grinder, especially non-Burr grinders, and it is aesthetically-pleasing and well-made, which is why I rate it 5 stars overall. It also is of good value compared to more expensive variants.

Top quality tool that improves espresso extraction
Color: Gray
Fantastic and easy to use. Stand sits on top of espresso machine and the WDT tool is always ready, no unscrewing. Upgraded from a screw-shut version and couldn't be happier. Comes with extra needles which I hope to never need. Easy to recommend

Makes a difference but maybe only to caffeine addled coffee snobs
Color: Black
I won't say that everyone urgently needs one of these. This is helped me up my game. Perhaps not absolutely necessary, but it noticeably reduces canalization and improves extraction. And it appears to have improved not only my espresso, but my pour-overs and my Mokapot (especially the Mokapot!). It's a little fiddley to assemble - there's sets of springs and needles - but once you get it all locked down, its very tight. There's a set of spares - I can't imagine needing them. The tool kinda sits in the weighted base, but it appears to stay put in my cabinet.

WDT Tool: The Needle in My Espresso Haystack
Color: Black, Color: Black
I kind of went down a deep dive researching these WDT (Weiss Distribution Technique) tools, and I have to say, this one hits the sweet spot! The needle size is just right, and the shape is spot on for what I need. Plus, it’s a nice perk that you can remove and replace the needles. I’ve tried using needles and bobby pins in the past, but they were too thick and just ended up creating their own channels—talk about a brewing disaster! Now, here’s the twist: even though it comes with seven needles installed (and more replacements), I find it a bit overkill. With all those needles, it just traps the grinds in the center, pushing stuff around like it’s playing a game of “don’t let the coffee escape.” So, I stick with just three needles in a triangle formation for optimal distribution. Pro tip: don’t forget to adjust the depth as you use it to ensure you’re getting the best coverage of your coffee grounds! The build quality is actually pretty impressive. It feels like well-constructed metal components that could survive a small espresso war. Plus, it's more affordable than some of those fancy options out there—because who needs a second mortgage for great coffee? It looks quite nice on my counter, and the little stand is a handy extra touch. Overall, if you’re looking to up your espresso game and avoid the chaos of uneven distribution, this WDT tool is worth considering. Just remember: less is sometimes more when it comes to needles!
