Frequently Asked Questions
Is my car supported?
Yes. The CarPhone can be installed in virtually any car and includes both flat and lateral mounting options for left- or right-hand-drive interiors. I also offer the Phonebase for the ultimate OEM-level integration. Mounts can be secured with screws or the included adhesive pads. The CarPhone is slightly larger than the OEM phone found on classic BMWs, thus it can't reuse their existing tray.
How does it work?
The device powers on automatically at ignition and connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth®. Once connected, you can receive and place calls directly from the CarPhone, browse your phonebook, search contacts, or reach Siri.
How is it powered?
It connects directly to your car’s 12-volt supply. You can also wire it to your cabin light and to an ignition-switched 12-volt line for automatic illumination and startup.
Can it be used with a Bluetooth® head unit?
Yes. Your phone can stay connected to both the CarPhone and your car’s head unit at the same time. Music will play through your stereo as usual, while calls are handled by the CarPhone. Pressing the loudspeaker button transfers the audio to your car’s speakers for a clearer, louder conversation.
