Light: This cactus loves bright, indirect light and will thrive in a sunny spot. It can tolerate some direct sun, especially if gradually acclimated, but too much intense sunlight can cause scorching. A bright windowsill or a room with plenty of natural light is ideal.
Water: Like most cacti, Opuntia rubescens Consolea prefers its soil to dry out completely between waterings. During the growing season (spring and summer), water sparingly—roughly every 2–3 weeks. In winter, cut back significantly, sometimes going over a month without water depending on your indoor climate.
