Ces cramiques laspect primitif, sont marques par le feu, ce qui leur donne un aspect unique, brut et sensible. Au Japon le raku fait partie intgrante de la crmonie du th et est depuis trs longtemps

Pièce réalisée à la main inspirée de la technique Raku par Amélie, de l'atelier POTRY chez elle à la campagne en pays de Loire.

POTRY réalise des petites séries et façonne des céramiques à la main et les cuit dans un four fabrication handmade qui chauffe au feu de bois.
Ces céramiques à l’aspect primitif, sont marquées par le feu, ce qui leur donne un aspect unique, brut et sensible. 

Au Japon le raku fait partie intégrante de la cérémonie du thé et est depuis très longtemps utilitaire et alimentaire, les occidentaux l’utilise également. 
Cela peut porter à confusion, car cependant en Europe, Il y a une législation qui désigne le Raku comme non conforme pour un usage alimentaire. Étant des pièces cuites en basse température elle sont légèrement poreuses et donc considérées comme « non hygiénique» car le thé, le café, les aliments colorants ou encore le gras peuvent laisser des traces, teintées, patiner l’objet.
La céramiste n’utilise pas d’oxyde pour donné de la couleur. Elle utilise uniquement un émail très basique transparent sans plomb dit: fritte, qui fond à 900 degrés. C’est une couverte. Cet émail transparent développe des réseaux de craquelures à la sortie du four lors du choc thermique de l’enfumage. Celle-ci se dévoile lorsque la fumée passe dedans. Ce qui donne ce fameux effet craquelé du Raku.

      Awesome Boards….BUT the Smell!!!!

      I’d love to give these 5 stars, they are heavy, well made, smooth, deep juice grooves, just nice….but the smell! I washed them, then used vinegar on them, set them outside over night, washed them again….its better but still present. I’d love some guidance on this. I’m hoping it goes away in a few days. It’s like a very strong woodsy smell that actually made my whole kitchen smell like these boards! Edit: Ok, here's what I did. Washed, let dry, coated and scrubbed with apple cider vinegar, set them in a high air flow area for 24 hours (I put mine outside on the patio over night), washed and scrubbed again, let dry, scrubbed with lemons and salt, let dry, washed again. Finally, there is still a slight smell if you push them against your nose but that seems to be fading as well. So, great boards if you want to go stubbornly go through the smell removal process. I don't think it's a chemical smell, I think it's processed bamboo that is shrink wrapped in air tight packaging too soon after manufacturing. Anyway, I'll move this to 4 stars....but lots of work involved here!
