J-Zone’s drum break collections have been sampled by Danger Mouse (Broken Bells), Alchemist (Westside Gunn & Conway), Marco Polo (Masta Ace) and countless others. As a work for hire session drummer, J-Zone has played on tracks by Danger Mouse & Karen O, Michael Kiwanuka, Lord Finesse, Bobbito Garcia (featuring Eddie Palmieri and Robert Glasper) and Pharoahe Monch, as well as holding down the drum chair for one half of his band, The Du-Rites, and as one third of the modern line-up of legendary ‘70s funk band, Manzel. J-Zone is also the current studio and touring drummer for Colemine recording artist, Ben Pirani.
