Zo bestaat het complex uit de natuurlijke vormen van vitamine B12: methylcobalamine en adenosylcobalamine, deze worden beter opgenomen door het lichaam dan de synthetische varianten. Daarnaast vind je in het complex de bioactieve vorm van foliumzuur: 5-MTHF (5-methyltetrahydrofolaat). Deze vorm is direct beschikbaar voor de biologische processen in het lichaam, zonder een extra omzettingsstap te hoeven ondergaan.
Choline is de voorloper van acetylcholine
Choline wordt actief getransporteerd vanuit het bloed naar de zenuwcellen. Vervolgens wordt het opgenomen door de zenuwcellen, waar het wordt omgezet naar acetylcholine. Dit is een neurotransmitter die een ondersteunende rol speelt in het doorgeven van signalen, zowel tussen zenuwcellen in het centrale zenuwstelsel (hersenen en ruggenmerg) als tussen motorische zenuwen en spieren in het perifere zenuwstelsel.
Ondersteunende B-vitaminen
De werking van choline is nauw verweven met die van B-vitamines, wat de reden is voor de toevoeging van vitamine B1, B5, B12 en folaat (B11) aan dit product. Deze combinatie ondersteunt diverse functies in het lichaam.
Belang tijdens de zwangerschap en borstvoeding
De Europese Autoriteit voor Voedselveiligheid (EFSA) benadrukt dat zwangere vrouwen vaak een verhoogde behoefte aan choline hebben, namelijk 480 milligram per dag, in vergelijking met de standaardaanbeveling van 400 gram per dag. Voor vrouwen die borstvoeding geven, ligt de aanbevolen inname zelfs nog hoger, op 520 milligram choline per dag.
Door deze verhoogde behoefte kan het nodig zijn om extra choline binnen te krijgen via voeding of supplementen. Ook na de geboorte blijft choline belangrijk. Tijdens de borstvoeding heeft je pasgeboren baby namelijk nog niet de capaciteit om voldoende choline zelf aan te maken. Daarom wordt choline vaak toegevoegd aan zuigelingenvoeding om ervoor te zorgen dat je baby de benodigde hoeveelheden binnenkrijgt.

First impressions: Nice individually portioned packages of concentrated additive for use in your water flosser. The liquid inside is to be added to a full tank of water. It makes the water nice and minty.
Installation/setup: Add to a full tank of water in your water flossing machine.
Final thoughts: The additive makes the water nice and minty. Each pack flavors one tank full of water. The instructions say to use the flosser twice a day and it is really a very pleasant taste. I like this and I’m glad I got it.

For water flossers but can be used otherwise!
I misunderstood the product description and thought these were concentrated mini-mouthwash packets. They are actually an additive intended to pop into a water flosser, like using mint flavored floss instead of plain. I pitched my water flosser long ago but gave these a try as a concentrated regular mouthwash. I like it! The box contains a really cute fish-shaped packet. You snap off the end, or "tail" section, and be careful not to let it splash. Mix with a little water and you have a mouthwash. For travel, this is really convenient. I take a mini-mouthwash but am always worried about it leaking or TSA giving me grief. This would be a good option to have on hand. It's not particularly strong or a heavy alcohol based one like Listerine, but it did leave my breath feeling very fresh.

A Fluoride‑Free Toothpaste the Whole Family Honestly Loves

We’ve been using Boka Fluoride Free Toothpaste with Nano‑Hydroxyapatite for a while now, and it has easily become a staple in our household. Toddler Approved!

I never thought I’d describe toothpaste as “fun,” but here we are... I bought this Boka strawberry mango flavor for my toddler — I figured he would enjoy this over a mint flavor because what kid enjoys a harsh, burning feeling? It smells fruity and tastes like a smoothie. We are still practicing brushing but this toothpaste helps encourage the importance of daily teeth maintenance. Also, I love that it’s fluoride-free and I am not worried if it's swallowed. It is pricier than I would prefer, but it has lasted so long that I've came to terms that it's worth the cost.
