Er zijn kleine gaatjes in het middenstuk gemaakt, die water opnemen bij onderdompeling. Wanneer de pup op het botje kauwt, ontsnapt het water via de kleine gaatjes. Voor een extra fris-kick en langer spelen kun je het gehele bot met water invriezen: zo doet de hond er langer over het ijs te laten smelten en het water uit het bot te krijgen!
