Monoï de tahiti wordt gemaakt door het de bloemblaadjes van de Tahitian gardenia (best bekend als as Tiaré bloem) te laten weken in kokosolie. Hierdoor verkrijg je een olie rijk aan methylsalicylaat en laurinezuur.

De combinatie van de antibacteriële en schimmelwerende effecten van kokosolie en de verzachtende en ontstekingsremmende werking van methylsalicylaat en laurinezuur zijn als een superfood voor je huid. De olie voedt de huid, helpt irritatie voorkomen en heeft een zuiverende werking.

Al eeuwenlang maakt en gebruikt men monoï olie op de Polynesische eilanden tijdens ceremonie's en voor medicinale doeleinden.

Monoi, wat het Tahitiaans woord is voor 'geurende olie', wordt gemaakt in Polynesië met kokosnoten die in koraalgrond worden gekweekt. Tiare bloemen worden met de hand geplukt en daarna minstens 10 dagen geweekt. Men gebruik minstens 10 Tiare bloemen per liter kokosolie.

Deze Monoï de tahiti is 100% puur zonder toevoeging van synthetische parfums of bewaarmiddelen.

Toepassing

Voor je huid:

Monoï olie zuivert en verzacht de huid. Gebruik het puur op je huid als hydraterende huidolie of after-sun, of als massageolie. Je kan het ook gebruik om striae te voorkomen of the bestrijden.

Voor je haar:

Monoï is ook fantastisch als haarconditioner om droog en beschadigd haar weer te herstellen.
