Carhartt WIP werd in 1994 opgericht als Europese herinterpretatie van het Amerikaanse werkkleding-merk dat Hamilton Carhartt in 1889 begon voor fabrieksarbeiders en spoorwegarbeiders. De Simple Short is de directe vertaling van die werkkleding-logica naar een korte broek: dezelfde constructie als de Simple Pant, hetzelfde materiaal, kortere pijp.

De stof is 11.25oz Norco denim, 100% katoen, zwaargenoeg om zijn vorm te bewaren maar door de stone wash behandeling zacht genoeg om direct te dragen zonder inlooptijd. De stone wash geeft het blauw een geleefde, licht ongelijkmatige toon die dichter bij archief-workwear zit dan bij nieuw denim. De constructie is direct en duurzaam: contrast triple stitching langs alle naden, bartack-stiksels op de draagpunten, vijfzakkenvorm met riemlussen, ritsluiting. Op de rechter achterzak zit het geweven Square Label, het kenmerkende Carhartt WIP-merkdetail. Relaxed fit met regular waist: ruim genoeg voor dagelijks dragen zonder de proportie te verliezen.
