Werkzame bestanddelen
Elke pleister voor transdermaal gebruik bevat 17,5 mg nicotine in een pleister van 10 cm² en geeft 7 mg nicotine af per 24 uur.

basisch gebutyleerd metacrylaat copolymeer (Eudragit E 100), polyesterfolie gecoat met aluminium, acrylaat-vinylacetaat copolymeer (Duro-Tak 387-2516), medium-chain triglyceriden (Miglyol 812), papier 26 g/m², gesiliconizeerde, met aluminium gecoate polyesterfilm, bruine inkt
Dosering
Om de slaagkans te verhogen bij het stoppen met roken, moet u tijdens de behandeling met Nicotinell pleisters helemaal stoppen met roken. Nicotinell pleisters voor transdermaal gebruik kunnen als monotherapie (enkel pleisters) worden gebruikt (zie verder ‘Monotherapie’) of – bij ernstige afhankelijkheid – gelijktijdig met andere nicotinevervangende geneesmiddelen zoals kauwgom of zuigtabletten (zie verder ‘Combinatietherapie’). Nicotinell pleisters mogen niet gebruikt worden door rokers jonger dan 18 jaar zonder voorafgaand medisch advies. Er zijn drie verschillende sterkten beschikbaar van Nicotinell pleisters voor transdermaal gebruik: 7 mg/24 uur, 14 mg/24 uur en 21 mg/24 uur. De voor u correcte sterkte wordt bepaald aan de hand van het aantal sigaretten dat u dagelijks rookt of met de Fagerström-test. Deze test bepaalt uw graad van afhankelijkheid aan nicotine. Met het resultaat van deze test kan u bepalen welke sterkte voor u het meest geschikt is. Fagerström-test: Na het ontwaken, wanneer steekt u uw eerste sigaret op? - minder dan 5 minuten - 3 punten - 6 tot 30 minuten - 2 punten - 31 tot 60 minuten - 1 punt - na 60 minuten - 0 punten Vindt u het moeilijk niet te roken op plaatsen waar dit verboden is? - Ja - 1 punt - Neen - 0 punten Welke sigaret van de dag vindt u het moeilijkste op te geven? - De eerste - 1 punt - Eender welke andere - 0 punten Hoeveel sigaretten rookt u per dag? - 10 of minder - 0 punten - 11 tot 20 - 1 punt - 21 tot 30 - 2 punten - 31 of meer - 3 punten Rookt u meer in de voormiddag dan in de namiddag? - Ja - 1 punt - Neen Rookt u wanneer u ziek bent en nagenoeg de hele dag in bed moet blijven? - Ja - 1 punt - Neen Score van 0 tot 2: u bent niet afhankelijk van nicotine. U kan stoppen met roken zonder nicotinevervangende therapie. Indien u echter twijfelt over het stoppen met roken of indien u niet weet welke pleister te kiezen, vraag dan raad aan uw arts of apotheker. Score van 3 tot 4: u bent licht afhankelijk van nicotine. Score van 5 tot 6: u bent matig afhankelijk van nicotine. Een nicotinevervangende therapie zal waarschijnlijk uw kans op succes verhogen. Vraag uw arts of apotheker om advies bij het kiezen van de voor u meest geschikte therapie. Score van 7 tot 10: u bent sterk tot zeer sterk afhankelijk van nicotine. Een nicotinevervangende therapie is aanbevolen om u te helpen bij het stoppen met roken. De behandeling moet gebeuren met een voldoende en aangepaste dosis Vraag uw arts of apotheker om raad betreffende gespecialiseerd advies en ondersteuning bij het stoppen met roken. Het is mogelijk dat de sterkte van Nicotinell pleisters voor transdermaal gebruik aangepast moeten worden tijdens de behandeling omdat uw afhankelijkheid voor nicotine verandert. Soms is de nicotinedosis in Nicotinell pleisters voor transdermaal gebruik voor u te laag, maar soms ook te hoog. De dosis moet verhoogd worden wanneer u ontwenningsverschijnselen ervaart, zoals: - een blijvende drang om te roken - irritatie - slaapstoornissen - agitatie of ongeduld - concentratiestoornissen Vraag raad aan uw arts of apotheker. Het kan nodig zijn de dosering aan te passen. De dosis moet verlaagd worden wanneer u symptomen van overdosering ervaart, zoals: - misselijkheid, braken, buikpijn, diarree - overvloedige speekselproductie - zweten - hoofdpijn, duizeligheid, verminderd gehoor, gezichtsstoornissen - een algemeen gevoel van zwakte (futloos zijn) Het is dan absoluut nodig de behandeling aan te passen met de hulp van uw arts of apotheker. Monotherapie (behandeling met pleisters) Standaardbehandeling in drie fasen: Stap 1: zal u helpen bij het stoppen met roken Stap 2: bevestigt het stoppen met roken en begint met afbouwen van nicotineafhankelijkheid Stap 3: helpt de behandeling te beëindigen. De volledige behandeling duurt gemiddeld 3 maanden. De duur kan echter variëren afhankelijk van de individuele respons; de volledige duur van de monotherapie kan tot 6 maanden bedragen. Score van 5 of hoger in de Fagerströmtest of het roken van meer dan 20 sigaretten per dag: Stap 1: 3 tot 4 weken Nicotinell 21 mg/24 uur Stap 2: 3 tot 4 weken Nicotinell 14 mg/24 uur* Stap 3: 3 tot 4 weken Nicotinell 7 mg/24 uur* Score lager dan 5 in de Fagerströmtest of roken van minder dan 20 sigaretten per dag Beginnen met stap 2 Stap 2: 3 tot 4 weken Nicotinell 14 mg/24 uur** Stap 3: 3 tot 4 weken Nicotinell 7 mg/24 uur** * Wanneer de drang nog steeds hoog is, ga naar een hogere dosering (of stap) en herneem van daaruit het schema ** Wanneer de drang nog steeds hoog is, gebruik de 21 mg sterkte en volg het chema vanaf stap 1 voor rokers van meer dan 20 sigaretten.
Aanwijzigingen voor gebruik
Op zuivere, droge, intacte en onbehaarde huid aanbrengen. Na aanbrengen pleister 10-20 seconden aandrukken. Locatie van de pleister dagelijks afwisselen. Contact met ogen en neus vermijden. Handen wassen na gebruik. Niet langer dan 6 maanden gebruiken zonder overleg met arts.

solid no nonsense watch

This watch has many key features I needed in an everyday watch.
- 5 separate alarms which you can set to a single day of week, weekend, weekday, or all week. useful for let's say trash day reminders or school day pickup reminders. The flexibility of the alarms is really key.
- 9 interval countdown timers (repeats when done)
- 1 countdown timer
- stopwatch100 lap (more than enough)
- indigo light, excellent nighttime illumination
- excellent water resistance and durability. i've had mine for nearly 2 years and it still looks sharp. some of the lettering on the front has rubbed off, but most still visible, colors hold well. and i've put mine thru all sorts of abuse over the years.
- large screen and digits for easy viewing at work. i have to record times at work so this was key. date and day of week is easily visible as well.
- good battery life. if you don't use light a lot but use alarms regularly can last easily between 1-2 years
- excellent price for about 30$
CONS:
- no vibration, but i don't really need this
- dual time zone... actually not ideal because you switch by pushing & holding the start/split button below the face. i accidentally seem to push and hold this button a lot thus it switches my timezone. i've gotten around this by just setting both times to be identical but a bit of a pain
- resin band is durable but as always the little moving strap part to tuck away extra band breaks after a while. I discovered a neat trick to use my daughter's small hairband tie folded over twice to secure the extra band now. durable and doesn't look bad (if you pick the right color).
- pain in the butt to change the battery (uses CR 2025 by the way). you have to remove both resin band parts first as it slightly overlaps the back case. then there are 4 tiny screws. once the bands are taken off it's pretty straight forward. make sure to align the thin rubber seal before you put the cover on. mine leaked water in after a change until I realized the seal was not sitting properly.
Overall, I've been thru smartwatches, fancy watches, solar watches, ... mainly many casio and timex watches. this is by far one of the most practical and best watches I have. I'll be curious to see what google/apple create in the smartwatch category of the years.

Great sports/fitness watch

I will start my review with an admission:
I hate digital watches.
I think 7-segment numbers look ugly, and I prefer the ability to see the 'distance' between times visually that you get with an analog face.
But I needed the timer and lap counter for my job, and I have always wanted to do interval training to improve my speed and endurance while cycling. This watch had everything I needed and more. I was aware that Timex was a respected brand, and the T5E231 was the only watch in my price range with the ability to count 199 laps.
I have to say, though, that after a week of use, I actually love this watch. Not only does it meet my needs functionally, but it actually brings me pleasure to wear it and operate it. The yellow trim around the inside of the bezel clearly identifies it as a sport watch, yet it seems to fit in well in formal settings. The interface is incredibly user-friendly and satisfying to operate. I never thought I would refer to a watch's "interface", but this watch actually has one. Pressing most of the buttons results in actual text being displayed on the screen telling you what the button did, or what will happen if you hold that button down just a little longer. In most modes there are even little labels that appear on the screen by the buttons telling you what they do in that mode. Figuring out how to use almost all of the functions only required five minutes of random experimentation. The only thing I had to consult the manual about was how to switch the chronograph into lap counter mode. I just wish there instructions explaining how to fold the manual back into a size that fits inside the watch stand.
There are so many little touches that make it clear the designers at Timex really take pride in their work. Here are my favorites:
-When turning night mode on, the Indiglo lingers for another few seconds after releasing the button. But when turning it off, the light extinguishes immediately! It should, since if you are turning night mode off, it's probably daytime and you don't need the Indiglo anymore.
-Being able to scroll numbers backwards and forwards while setting times. On other watches it is so frustrating to 'miss' the number you want and have to press the button 60 more times.
-Little icons appear on the home screen letting you know if the timer, chronograph, or alarm is running in the background. Most watches only have an icon for the alarm.
-The speaker plays a different sound for the alarm and the timer, so you know which one is going off without looking at the screen. Also the Indiglo light flashes.
-The Indiglo system is clearly a masterwork of engineering. It looks evenly lit and is very easy to read, yet it doesn't illuminate anything other than the display (unlike the backlight on a phone, for example). This must save a lot of battery power, since lighting up other objects around the watch is a waste of electricity. Besides, you have your phone for that!
-In timer mode, you can see what time the timer was originally set for on another line below the countdown.
-The AM and PM appear in the same place on the display; there is just one little segment that lights up to turn the P into an A.
-Many of the buttons that perform an irreversible or potentially unwanted function (such as resetting the chrono or clearing workout data) require being held down for several seconds so you don't trigger them accidentally.
-The watch tells you how much memory is free for storing workouts.
There is only one problematic thing about this watch (and it may actually be a problematic thing about myself). In order to activate the FLIX system I am required to wrench my arm so hard I nearly dislocate it. It is painful, and takes way more effort than just pressing the Indiglo button. This doesn't bother me, because I didn't buy this watch with the intention to ever use FLIX, but it is somewhat frustrating that it is so hard to use. However, it is possible that my technique is flawed, and there is an easier movement that will activate it. But I don't really want to experiment; I like my arm in its current uninjured state.
In all, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I love everything it does, and the only 'negative' probably says more about me than it does about the watch. Considering my abhorrence of digital watches, I am surprised that I like this one so much. I don't plan to wear it any other time than while at work or working out, but for those times it is not only tolerable, but actually enjoyable.

Very nice, but sizing is inconsistent

All of these Cole Haan shoes are extremely well made and I like the styling. On the other hand, the sizing is very inconsistent and you may end up having to do a lot of returns trying to find the right size. Then if you get a different color of it, you may find the sizing different yet again.
If you find your right zie, they are really nice shoes at a very reasonable price for the quality.

I love this brand. These shoes look and fit great!

I love wearing Cole Haan shoes. This is the second pair I’ve owned and the style just gets me. I’ve worn these to work at a great professional job every day, not just casual Friday. I wear these when I head out shopping or to dinner. They are functional, comfortable, built for regular and bigger wider feet and comfortable. I am 6 feet tall and my feet have changed size over the years to me needing a wider shoe to relieve pressure on my toes and front wide porting of my foot. So the 13W feels great and still walks the same as a regular 14 but more comfort for me. They look amazing and qualify in some offices as dress shoes (depending on company rules they will justify a sneaker as a shoe with the tan colored “gum” sole as a sneaker) so check company policy. The black sole on this makes it look more dressy. I am switching out the laces to match my previous Cole Haan because I think the white shoelaces look better. As an adult, aside from my Kenneth Cole boots Reaction boots and Doc Marten’s these are the only shoes I will pay 3 digits for. This looks like skater shoes but with a more mature look.

I am certainly glad I found them and finally ordered

A bit bulkier than my Stan Smiths Leather versions, but actually more comfortable.
They seem to be a bit "clunkier" looking than a streamline Stan Smith, but it's a matter of style. It works for a change of pace.
Gets or picks up dirt a bit, but cleans well, except the canvas part.
Has lasted almost 6-8 months with very little signs of wear.
Feels very secure in any type of weather or condition.
Great alternative or addition to having a pair of Stan Smiths.
