Bernhard Ott wordt met een reden Mister Veltliner genoemd. Al vanaf 1889 focust de familie Ott zich volledig op de Gruner Veltliner druif. Op 21-jarige leeftijd nam zoon Bernhard Ott het stokje over en richtte zich volledig op de biologische wijnteelt. Het bedrijf heeft 50 hectare wijngaarden in de regio Wagram. Hij viel al snel in de prijzen en maakt jaar na jaar zeer zuivere wijnen die enorm geliefd zijn. Hij heeft de afgelopen jaren volop geïnvesteerd en daarmee zijn wijnkelder volledig vernieuwd. Dankzij zijn innovatie aanpassingen groeit het bedrijf jaar in jaar uit en daarmee ook de kwaliteit van de wijnen. Stein is de naam van de wijngaard, gelegen in het dorpje Engabrunn. Stein betekent steen zoals de naam doet vermoeden bestaat de grond uit löss, kalk en klei. Het is hiermee de enige in het Kamptal met dit terroir. Daarnaast is het klimaat hier iets frisser waardoor de wijnen een aangename structuur krijgen. Wanneer de druiven optimaal rijp zijn worden ze zorgvuldig met de hand geoogst. De Ried Stein Gruner Veltliner straalt met een bleekgele kleur in het glas. In de geur kruidige aroma’s met typische tonen van perzik, peper, peer en een beetje gemaaid gras. In de smaak krachtige tannines, rijp en ook fris met tonen van meloen en peer. De afdronk is lang en krachtig met duidelijke tonen van kruiden zoals peper.Shipping Notes

As an el Supremo Coffee Geek, I've wasted money on lots of different tampers. Save your money and buy this one or it's equivalent. This thing is heavy duty, solid, well-made, self-leveling, tamps at 30 pounds and is fool-proof even for fools. Also, it's a palm tamper meaning more fun and more satisfying to use as you prep the puck for your morning buzz. Buy it. You will thank me.

Super easy to use and takes the guess-work out of getting even pressure on the grounds

I have been using a hand tamper for many years and have a good idea of the pressure I am applying to the grounds in the portafilter. I honestly considered spring tampers to be a bit silly. But this tamper really does take the guess-work out of pressing the coffee grounds. The shroud helps guide the press so that pressure is applied even and flat across the surface. With the manual tamper, there will be some play when pressing, or some unevenness in pressure. This is especially true when cranking out many espressos during a breakfast party with friends. Having the spring tamper makes quick work of turning out a lot of coffees with consistency.
There are no instructions for taking this tamper apart to clean inside, and you may not really need to do that very often. After each use, just pull back the shroud (the black piece that moves up and down) and wipe off the tamper (the shiny steel part). This will help prevent grounds from working their way inside. If you do want to take it apart, it’s easy. Pull back the shroud and unscrew the tamper. It will come apart into three pieces. Wipe the pieces off and reassemble. Super quick and easy.
This tamper is very heavy. My scale shows 656 g (about a pound and a half). It fits the portafilter exactly, with no slop. Just place on top of grounds and press!. Don’t even worry about pressure, just push down all the way. Overall I had fun using this tamper versus my manual one. And since I make myself a cappuccino very early in the morning, I don’t have to be very awake to get a good pack on the grounds and get my coffee fast!

Quality and Function
Looks like a silly little thing, I am not a coffee enthusiast. But it does exactly what it is supposed to do and with high quality. The device (a stretch to call it that) is made of sturdy materials including the needles. They give you two different thicknesses of needles, one for expressi (0.3) and one set for coffee grinds (0.4). Each comes wth some spares. The stand is well designed and keeps grinds from spreading all over. It is very elegant design. I use this with a dosing funnel on my portafilter. Not the cheapest one could buy but well worth the money.

Perfect WDT tool
Best WDT I’ve found. Love that it includes 0.3mm needles (as I’ve found that 0.4mm needles push the grounds around too much), and the stand is very clever. It knocks off the residual grounds on the needles and is easy to use. As far as WDT tools go, I can’t imagine anything better.
