Het is een cultivar die in mei zijn opvallende lichtroze bloesem laat zien. De Prunus serrulata 'Hokusai’ op stam heeft een groen blad wat bronskleurig kan uitlopen, tot dat deze gaat verkleuren in de herfst naar een oranje/gele kleur. Hij scoort door zijn opvallende bloesem en herfstkleur hoog in sierwaarde.

De Prunus serrulata 'Hokusai’ op stam is een gemiddeld grote soort dus past goed in een grotere tuin, maar is ook zeker geschikt voor een kleinere tuin. Hij staat het liefste op een zonnige of half-schaduw plek, zonder verharding. Hij kan redelijk tegen de wind en is goed bestand tegen de vorst. Het is een kort bloeiende soort, met een geurende en opvallende bloesem. Daardoor past deze perfect in geurtuinen en biodiverse tuinen, hij is namelijk erg aantrekkelijke voor vlinders en bijen. Verder groeit hij goed op vrijwel elke grondsoort, dus klei- zand- en leemgrond, echter niet op een natte bodem.

Wow! Queen Helene Cocoa Butter. What can I say about this timeless classic lotion. I'll always have a bottle in my house as long as I live because it WORKS!!!
