RotPot is een complete doe-het-zelf kit waarmee je thuis de lekkerste smaakvolle mosterd maakt door middel van fermentatie. Ferme…wat? Fermenteren! Een oude bereidingstechniek, waarbij gisten en bacteriën de natuurlijk aanwezige suikers omzetten in milde zuren. De pot is steeds opnieuw te gebruiken. Wat zit er in de doos?
- 1x Mosterdmix
- 1x Glazen pot (ca 1 liter) met mosterdzaad

Het waterslot zorgt ervoor dat het gas dat bacteriën en gisten produceren tijdens het fermenteren veilig kan ontsnappen. Ook voorkomt het dat er zuurstof van buitenaf bij de mosterd komt waardoor het kan bederven.
Waarom fermenteren?
Vroeger was deze techniek vooral populair onder mensen die geen koelkast hadden, omdat de lagere zuurgraad ervoor zorgt dat je producten langer kunt bewaren. Gefermenteerde producten groenten zijn niet alleen heel lekker, maar ook nog eens gezond. Ze zitten namelijk bomvol bacteriën die goed zijn voor je darmen.
Milieu-informatie
Fermentatie is de omzetting van organisch materiaal door bacteriën, gisten en schimmels. Veel bekende voedingsmiddelen zijn ontstaan door fermentatie. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan koffie, cacao, droge worst, olijven, kaas, yoghurt, zuurkool. Met de RotPot kan je het gerecht op de juiste smaak brengen zodat jij optimaal geniet.
Lekker, Gezond en Zero Foodwaste
Thuisfermentaties zijn niet alleen heel smaakvol, maar zitten ook nog eens barstensvol vriendelijke melkzuurbacteriën die kunnen bijdragen aan een gezonde darmflora. Bovendien is fermenteren een handige manier om groenterestjes en zuivel langer houdbaar te maken, waardoor verspilling wordt voorkomen.
Het verhaal achter RotPot
RotPot is een creatie van Sanne Zwart, de fermentatie-expert achter Keukenboeren Workshops. Sanne is jaren geleden gefascineerd geraakt door de enorme mogelijkheden en voordelen van fermentatie en heeft als missie iedereen aan het fermenteren te krijgen.
RotPot wordt samengesteld en verpakt door medewerkers met een afstand tot de arbeidsmarkt. Hiervoor wordt samengewerkt met een nabijgelegen sociale werkplaats met een speciale HACCP-afdeling voor voedselproducten. De kruiden en specerijen zijn waar mogelijk van Nederlandse afkomst en duurzaam geteeld. De materialen worden zorgvuldig gekozen op basis van herkomst, met zo min mogelijk impact op het milieu en zijn geschikt voor langdurig gebruik.

My new favorite socks!

As someone that struggles with cold hands and feet, I started experimenting with using merino wool socks over my usual cotton and polyester blend socks. I am very pleased to report that these merino wool socks are very comfortable and warm. They have a secure and comfortable fit--ideal for casual everyday use. These socks perform well as athletic socks for winter soccer, and will slowly take over my sock drawer!
These socks have a good thickness to them and feel durable for normal wear. The elastic portion of the sock stretches to accommodate wider ankles (like mine) and does not feel like it will lose elasticity quickly. Very fair value for the cost in my book.

Great product

Lightweight and Comfortable, but very thin

I used the Lapulas Merino Wool Quarter Socks for Men on a Europe trip where I was walking pretty much all day, and overall they performed well. The biggest thing to know right away is that they are very thin. If you’re expecting thick, cushioned socks, these are not that. They feel more like a lightweight layer rather than something padded.
That said, the thinness actually worked in my favor for travel. Even after long days of walking, my feet didn’t feel overly sweaty or damp. They seem to handle moisture pretty well, and I didn’t get that uncomfortable “wet sock” feeling, which is a big plus when you’re constantly on the move.
They’re also surprisingly decent at regulating temperature. They’re not thick, but they still help keep your feet warm when it’s a bit cold, while staying breathable enough during the day. It’s more of a balanced, all-day comfort rather than heavy insulation.
One thing I noticed is that they stretch out a bit after the first use. They’re snug at first, but after wearing them for a day, they loosen slightly. It’s not terrible, but it’s noticeable, especially since they’re already thin.
Also, proper care really matters with these. Since they’re merino wool and lightweight, I’d recommend being careful with washing and drying—gentle wash and air drying is probably the best way to maintain the shape and quality. Throwing them in a regular hot wash/dry cycle will likely wear them out faster or affect the fit.
Because they’re thin, they fit nicely inside shoes without feeling tight or bulky, which I appreciated when wearing sneakers for long periods.

Too stretchy for my preference

The socks seem to be high quality, but they are too stretchy for my liking. They feel like "compression" socks, and become too thin and stretched when worn (yes I bought the correct size). Even though they have less Spandex than my preferred wool socks (e which are no longer available), they are much stretchier.

Thick and comfortable

These socks fit 7.5 wide size woman's shoe wearer perfectly. Socks are thick and comfy. They stay in place all day. I got rid of all my old socks and it is a pleasure not having to scrounge for a matching pair. They wash and dry well in machine on wool setting.
