Focus, released in 1961 on Verve Records, stands as a singular entry in saxophonist Stan Getz’s discography — a chamber jazz suite composed and arranged by Eddie Sauter, with Getz as its sole improviser. Recorded in July 1961 at Webster Hall in New York City, Focus pairs Getz’ expressive tenor saxophone with a string orchestra conducted by Hershy Kay. Sauter’s seven-movement suite — originally envisioned for violinist Jascha Heifetz — unfolds in layered harmonic landscapes and orchestral textures. Getz’ parts were entirely improvised, captured live in single takes without written music, as he navigated pre-composed frameworks with melodic invention and emotional clarity. The album represents a true collaboration between Sauter and Getz, and a radical departure from the conventions of jazz ‘with strings’ albums of the time. Sauter’s charts emphasize contrapuntal writing, rhythmic complexity, and harmonic ambiguity, while Getz — unedited and unrehearsed in the traditional sense — weaves a lyrical, instinctive line throughout. The result remains one of the most original and artistically daring projects in Getz’s recorded legacy; the artist’s favourite of all the records he made. The Verve Vault series is always mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.Shipping Notes

Poor Quality
Size: 29, Color: Soundwave
This is my 4th pair of FP Barrels, and these felt poorly made. The holes for the button up fly were so small it was nearly impossible to button them. I’m going to see if I can stretch them out a bit. But better to buy from Free People directly!

Best dupe!
Size: 26, Color: Soundwave
Best dupe for the pricey barrel jeans. Washes and wears very well. Denim is soft.

Cute
Size: 29, Color: Deep End
They were a little on the shorter side. Still cute and still will be worn.

Exactly as FP describes
Size: 27, Color: Deep End
Quality denim with the classic FP barrel or horseshoe leg. These are deep, dark blue rigid denim with a button fly. Hits at the ankle for me, but if you are shorter than 5'9" you may a get full length fit from these. I own these jeans in multiple colors and these are another FP win for me.

Perfect lightweight denim for summer in Florida!
Size: Large, Color: Union Blue, Size: Large, Color: Union Blue
LOVE EM. Insanely comfortable and lightweight quality denim with a kiss of stretch (perfect for summer). I pair them with tees, cropped tops, tanks or button up shirts. They’re adorable with sandals, sneaks, flats or flops. I went through about 5 pairs of jeans from different stores looking for the perfect combo of lightweight, comfy and stylish; these fit the bill. The distressed accents (a few rips and paint flecks) add interest without being over the top. The attached belt is such an adorable accent. Love love love these and will likely buy a second pair. True to size.
