Als een van Nederlands bekendste saxofonisten en dochter van Hans Dulfer, behoeft Candy geen introductie. De autodidactische muzikant begon op zesjarige leeftijd met spelen en maakte haar eerste opnames al in 1981, toen ze elf jaar oud was. In 1990 bracht ze haar hitalbum Saxuality uit (waarvan wereldwijd meer dan een miljoen exemplaren werden verkocht), waarvoor ze een Grammy-nominatie ontving. Dit succes volgde ze in 1993 op met het album Sax-a-Go-Go.
Dit album is de opvolger van Big Girl en is een voortzetting van de funk-, R&B- en dance-koers die ze was ingeslagen. Maar vergis je niet: Candy's spel is nog even fel, rauw en direct als altijd, wat zorgt voor een opvallend contrast. Net als op Big Girl zijn de bekende Nederlandse vocalisten Trijntje Oosterhuis en Berget Lewis opnieuw van de partij. Het album bevat de nummers "Saxy Mood" en "Smooth" en bereikte in 1998 de achtste plek in de Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Albums.
For the Love of You is beschikbaar als een limited edition op doorschijnend paars gekleurd vinyl en bevat een insert.
