Dit is La Isilla, vrij vertaald 'het Eiland'. Het is de meest elegante en delicate wijn van het stel. De druiven komen uit de 'La Isalla' wijngaard van 1 hectare, aangeplant met 90 jaar oude Garnacha Tinta planten en een mini beetje Cariñena. Het lukte het 4 Monos team om deze oude verlaten wijngaard te herstellen, maar de opbrengsten zijn nog altijd erg laag: gemiddeld één vat (!) van 500 liter per jaar. De eerste oogst was in 2014.

De wijn is zacht, delicaat en subtiel, verlegen haast. Een karaf kan hier geen kwaad. Wilde bessen, aardbei compote, kruiden, de smaakparade houdt niet op. Wat een verfijnd mondgevoel, delicate tannine en een lange afdronk. Verschrikkelijk mooi, het is u wel gegund.

  • Land / streek: Sierra de Gredos, regio Madrid, Spanje
  • Druivensoort(en): Bijna 100% Garnacha Tinta, mespunt Cariñena.
  • In de wijngaard: Biologische landbouw. Wijngaard aangeplant op 860 meter met bush vine Garnacha Tinta en een plukje Cariñena, beide ruim 90 jaar oud. Bodem van sterk verweerd wit graniet, zand en kwarts. Her en der gigantische rotsblokken in de wijngaard.
  • In de wijnkelder: Hand geplukte druiven, koude inweking met de hele trossen, daarna spontane gisting met de hele trossen voor 47 dagen, zachte persing en vervolgens rijping van 14 maanden in een gebruikt eikenhouten vat van 500 liter. Minimaal sulfiet gebruik.

I even think the material is okay. I've only had it for a few days so I can't even speak to how the material holds up. Really hoping to love this ball for my dog. It was not the distraction I was hoping it would be so I could work from home while my dog had fun. I'm hoping this can help someone else who's been pining over it. Essentially, it's a $35-$50 well made weighted ball that moves occasionally.
