Het afgelopen anderhalf jaar was voor Michelle David wonderbaarlijk te noemen. Na het uitbrengen van hun album, The Gospel Sessions Vol. 3 gebeurde er van alles. Ups en downs. De band werd in heel Europa jubelend ontvangen en de fanschare groeide, maar bij Michelle werd borstkanker geconstateerd. Voor iedereen een grote schok. Veel steun en een positieve instelling met zowel een vastberaden als moedige wil zorgden voor een succesvol herstel. Hierdoor ontstond het nieuwe kernwoord voor Vol. 4: “Victory!”. Zowel persoonlijk als muzikaal resulteerde het in een triomfantelijk eindresultaat. Beïnvloed door al deze gebeurtenissen en indrukken, is dit album het meest kleurrijke en diverse werk dat Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions tot nu heeft gemaakt. Van reggae, naar afrobeat, via Northern soul en boogaloo tot hun ware genre: rhythm en gospel.
