Deze heerlijk volle kanjer wordt extra lang gelagerd op kleine eikenhouten vaten waardoor deze heerlijk vol en rijp maar ook zeker zijdezacht wordt. Deze lagering duurt tussen de 5 en 7 jaar! De volle en krachtige wijnen van Feuerheerd

Porthuis Feuerheerd’s werd in 1815 opgericht door de Duitser Dietrich Matthias Feuerheerd. In 1926 werd het verkocht aan de Barros familie, waarna het huis over de jaren heen beroemd werd om de kwaliteit van zijn wijnen. Met name de Vintage Port stak er met kop en schouders bovenuit. Vandaag de dag staat een van de bekendste families binnen het Port gebied aan het roer: familie Van Zeller. De oorsprong van de bekende familie Zeller gaat terug naar de 13e eeuw, naar de Vlaamse stad Mechelen en Nijmegen, waar de familie verschillende gebouwen bezat, namelijk het dorp van de Zellaer. Zij maken als sinds de zeventiende eeuw port wijnen in hun geliefde Portugal. Inmiddels is de viertiende generatie aan het roer van dit mooie porthuis. Maar ze maken niet alleen port wijnen meer, maar ook een volle en krachtige rode wijn van lokale druiven soorten.

Hoe smaakt de Feuerheerd's Reserva Tawny?

Deze Feuerheerd’s Reserva Tawny heeft een prachtige diep rode kleur met een bruine omranding. De geur is een prachtig samenspel van karamel, rozijnen en krenten. De smaak is zijde zacht en heerlijk vol. De nuances van krenten en karamel worden in balans gebracht met tinten van rijp rood fruit en wat vanille. De afdronk is vol, intens en uitermate zacht. Een perfecte port om heerlijke s’avonds van te genieten met bijvoorbeeld oude kazen, chocolade of zelfs zonder waar erbij.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
