Fair Anita is a public benefit corporation that exists to create opportunities for over 8,000 talented, but marginalized women by selling trendy and affordable fair trade products produced in 9 countries. At our core, we are women investing in other women.

We collaborate with female artisan collectives that provide their workers with fair wages, long-term employment, and business development opportunities. We recognize what the difference between living-wage and minimum-wage means for a woman and her family. By paying artisans at least three-times the minimum wage, we generate income for women that helps them respond to violent gender dynamics in their respective communities. Financial insecurity is the #1 reason why women stay in abusive relationships so we work with women to increase their competencies, allowing their businesses to grow. These skills and business trainings enable them to hire more women, thereby transforming a cycle of abuse into a cycle of empowerment. We invest in women’s design skills, business acumen, and pricing strategies, so that these women can exercise leadership on the national and international level. By connecting resilient and talented artisans in low/medium income countries with new markets and customers, we're supporting the development of female leaders in local communities across the globe. 

We aim to create a community of women who celebrate, support, and invest in one another's success, building a world where we can all thrive, no matter our geography.

Most sterling silver jewelry is made by men, however, the cooperative we partner with employs primarily women!

The cooperative, run by changemaker Paula, is located outside of Taxco, Mexico, which is the silver capital of the world. Some women we work with were taught the craft by their fathers, others were taught by women in the group.  Regardless, the tradition of silversmithing in these small villages goes back generations, and it is the livelihood of most people in the area. Women we partner with in Mexico are able to work from their home, this allows them to work as well as look after their kids. Mostly, our partners in Mexico are proud to keep this craft alive, it has been passed down through generations, and now our partners are overjoyed to share their talents and traditions with you.
