DESCRIPTION: Vintage 1960s–1970s natural woven macramé handbag featuring a sculptural wooden handle, evocative of the free‑spirited bohemian style of the era. Hand‑knotted in a classic openwork pattern, this bag highlights the craftsmanship and organic materials that defined mid‑century to early 1970s fashion. The warm natural fibers pair beautifully with the smooth wood handle, creating a timeless accessory perfect for collectors or everyday wear. Ideal as a statement piece, beach bag, or festival companion, this authentic vintage macramé purse adds effortless retro charm and texture to any outfit.

HISTORY: Macramé—the ancient craft of knotting cords and strings into ornamental forms—underwent a notable revival during the 1970s. Once a traditional handcraft with roots stretching back centuries, it reemerged as a defining decorative art of the era. Artisans and hobbyists alike employed macramé to fashion wall hangings, plant suspenders, garments, and personal adornments such as handbags. Aligned with the decade’s bohemian sensibility and its celebration of handcrafted objects and natural materials, macramé became emblematic of the 1970s aesthetic, reflecting a broader cultural return to folk traditions and self-expression through handmade design.

DATE: Circa 1960s - 1970s

CONDITION: This item is in overall excellent, well-worn, vintage condition. There is some good overall weight to the feel of the bag due to the robust macrame.

Great when installed. Some problems
Style: 48inch 2 tier
The shelves are assembled and installed on my wall. I'm happy with them. They look great and are very sturdy. What prevents a 5-star rating? The instructions were poor. Not a huge deal as I was able to figure things out. The wall anchors that came with were cheap and (in my opinion) unusable. I went to Lowe's and bought some drywall anchors that were rated for 79 pounds and they worked well. During the install, I wasn't sure if I should attach the wall plates and assemble the shelves on the wall, or assemble everything and then attach it to the wall. Assembling before hanging was the way to go but it took two people. One other minor thing: The shelves are stained on one side an not the other. Since I have them high up on a wall, I'm looking at the unstained side. Yes, I can stain the unstained part, but it would be nice if they had just stained the top and bottom at the factory.

Beautiful Shelving Unit
Style: 48 inch 3 tier
The shelving unit is beautiful. It has not been hung yet, but I plan on using it to replace my entertainment center and hang my TV above it. I am so excited as the shelves matched perfectly to my furniture so I believe it will be a lovely addition to my living room and take up less space than the entertainment center does.
