This Tokai LS-STD Lemon Drop Satin was originally produced as a custom-order model for a music store in Japan, making it an exceptionally hard-to-find specification that rarely appears on the market.

Even within the Japanese domestic market, these are incredibly uncommon guitars to come across.

Finished in a stunning Satin Lemon Drop finish with a plain maple top, mahogany body and set mahogany neck construction, this guitar absolutely nails that understated vintage Les Paul aesthetic. The satin finish gives it a far more boutique feel than the typical gloss Love Rock models, allowing the grain to show beautifully while giving the guitar a lightly aged, broken-in appearance straight out of the case.

What really elevates this guitar though is the pickup set. Fitted with Bare Knuckle humbuckers, this Love Rock delivers an absolutely huge tone. Thick, rich and harmonically loaded with incredible clarity and dynamics, these pickups perfectly suit the guitar’s vintage-inspired build and give it a genuinely premium feel both acoustically and plugged in.

Clean tones are warm, open and articulate with loads of detail, while driven sounds deliver that classic singing Les Paul sustain with punchy mids, tight low end and effortless lead tones. It has that proper old-school rock voice that makes you instantly want to keep playing.

Weight is an excellent 9lb 8.6oz, giving it that substantial old-school Les Paul feel without becoming excessive.

Condition is excellent overall with only very light signs of handling and use. There are some minor marks to the pickguard and very light cosmetic signs of use as expected, but overall this guitar presents beautifully and appears to have been extremely well cared for.
