Discover the powerful narrative of 'The Broad Arrow', a rare gem of Australian literature revived in a critical edition. Authored by Caroline Leakey under the pseudonym Oliné Keese, this captivating novel, first published in 1859, intricately weaves the poignant tale of Maida Gwynnham, a young middle-class woman ensnared in the shadows of deception. Lured into forgery by her treacherous lover, Captain Norwell, Maida's life plunges into chaos as she faces wrongful conviction for infanticide. This evocative story, marked by gothic undertones and a profound exploration of moral dilemmas, paints a vivid picture of the 19th-century penal system and its societal implications. The novel’s title alludes to the infamous broad arrow stamped on government property—a striking symbol of shame and confinement that resonates throughout the narrative. This brand-new critical edition, edited by Jenna Mead, carefully restores previously omitted material, offering readers an opportunity to experience the complete original text for the first time in over a century. Ideal for literature enthusiasts seeking to dive deep into a significant chapter of Australian history through a female lens, 'The Broad Arrow' is a must-read. Note: Shipping for this item is free. Description:
Caroline Leakey, writing as Oliné Keese, published her first and only novel, The Broad Arrow, in 1859. It tells the story of Maida Gwynnham, a young middleclass woman lured into committing a forgery by her deceitful lover, Captain Norwell, and then wrongly convicted of infanticide. The novel's title describes the arrow that was stamped onto government property, including the clothes worn by convicts — a symbol of shame and incarceration. With its 'fallen woman' protagonist, its gothic undertones and its exploration of the social and moral implications of the penal system, this little-known novel gives an insight into a significant chapter of Australian history from a uniquely female perspective.
In this new critical edition, editor Jenna Mead restores material that was cut for a radically abridged version in 1886, restoring for the first time in over a century the complete original text of Leakey's important work.

Solid Wallet
Color: Wild Buffalo Grey
I recently purchased the ULL GUARD Buffalo Leather Wallet, and I’m genuinely impressed with its quality and craftsmanship. The buffalo leather feels durable and premium—this is a wallet that looks like it’ll stand the test of time.
What I love about it:
- Thoughtful Billfold Design: The bill compartment includes a separator, which is perfect for organizing cash and checks separately. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference.
- Plenty of Storage: There are numerous credit card slots, making it easy to keep all your cards neatly arranged and accessible.
- Clear ID Pocket: The transparent ID slot is a convenient touch, especially for quick access to your driver’s license or work badge.
Overall, this wallet combines functionality with rugged style. If you're looking for something that’s both practical and built to last, the ULL GUARD Buffalo Leather Wallet is a solid choice.

A Quality Wallet
Color: Boulder Black - Napa Smooth Black
So far so good. The wallet has a great feel and is of high quality. It looks great and has plenty of credit card slots and I love the bill holder, with a divider. It is wider than I expected, but it stays thinner than the last minimalist wallet I had so the trade off is worth it to me. I would buy it again.

Good Wallet, Plenty of Storage Slots
I needed a new wallet to replace my old one that was a tri-fold one that was cloth and it was getting some wear holes in it. I really like this wallet but it has one feature I don't care for. The wallet is good size, has plenty of card holding capacity, RFID blocking, soft leather and it's window is large enough to hold two picture ID's, which I have not to mention the price is pretty good. The only feature I don't care for is the two pocket billfold section. I find it restricts how far it opens up which then makes it hard to see the money you're carrying. I would have been better to not have this so it would open farther and just put two horizontal fabric pockets on the front side of the bill section to hold some business cards.

Best Wallet So Far
It took me years of my wife telling me to get a new wallet (my old one was GREAT but very old, worn and dirty but like an old friend... hard to get ride of). I needed something that would hold A LOT OF CARDS. After much searching on Amazon and reading reviews, I selected this one as I likes the style.
Right off the bat I liked it. It held almost all my cards (I discarded 2 or 3 that were old and expired) and am amazed at how thin it is (especially compared to my old wallet) and comfortable in my back pants pocket. I especially like the bi-fold feature that organizes my cards so when I need one, I know exactly where it is. Looks well made and hopefully will last many years.
