Discover the groundbreaking **Race and the Cultural Industries**, an essential read that delves into the intersection of race, media, and cultural production. This influential book by Anamik Saha examines how racial representations are constructed in film, television, music, and the arts, making it a crucial addition to the library of anyone interested in media studies, race theory, and cultural industries. With its interdisciplinary approach, Saha combines insights from critical media studies, media industries research, postcolonial studies, and critical race theory to unveil the complex dynamics that shape media representations of racial and ethnic minorities.

Gain a deeper understanding of how political economic forces and the legacies of empires influence cultural production and promote certain media discourses around race. This enlightening text challenges readers to rethink the politics of representation and consider the persistent portrayals of 'the Other' within the media landscape. Ideal for students, scholars, and activists, **Race and the Cultural Industries** encourages a critical perspective on how our media environments shape societal attitudes towards race and ethnicity.

Description:

Studies of race and media are dominated by textual approaches that explore the politics of representation. But there is little understanding of how and why representations of race in the media take the shape that they do. How, one might ask, is race created by cultural industries? In this important new book, Anamik Saha encourages readers to focus on the production of representations of racial and ethnic minorities in film, television, music and the arts. His interdisciplinary approach combines critical media studies and media industries research with postcolonial studies and critical race perspectives to reveal how political economic forces and legacies of empire shape industrial cultural production and, in turn, media discourses around race. Race and the Cultural Industries is required reading for students and scholars of media and cultural studies, as well as anyone interested in why historical representations of 'the Other' persist in the media and how they are to be challenged.

MUST BUY
This was a nice addition to my Prequel collection! I just loved this product and so did my skin. This is a very light weight product that hydrates and plumps the skin. I apply it after my VitC serum and it works great under my makeup. I will be repurchasing. Such a good product at a good price!

Makes my skin feel firmer
I bought this and the Prequel SPF, my first time using this product line. Definitely impressed and in my opinion, a great price for what seems like a quality product. The serum has a lightweight texture,, absorbs quickly, and my skin looks and feels well hydrated right away. More so than when I use a regular hyaluronic acid. There is no pilling or heavy feel so easy to use with other products. I can't say whether it improves skin texture over time or what the benefits are with continued use. I've been using it consistently with the SPF for the last two weeks, so it only been a short while. But when I put it on, my skin noticeably looks more springy and feels better throughout the day. I have mature, dry skin so I do use a moisturizer over this before sun protection. I imagine that if you have oily or normal skin you might be able to use this in place of moisturizer during the day.

Plump, Soft Skin with a Smooth Finish
I’ve really been enjoying the Prequel Skin Multi‑Quench Plumping Hydration Serum. It gives my skin a soft, hydrated feel without any heaviness, and it absorbs quickly so it never interferes with the rest of my routine. One of the best parts is how smoothly my makeup applies afterward—everything blends better and looks more even. Overall, it’s a lightweight, effective serum that adds the perfect boost of hydration.
