Forget all your preconceptions about Pinot Gris - this is a beautiful, deep rosy pink with far more complexity in the nose (rose petals and raspberries and strawberries) and mouth than ordinary white Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio.
Kelley Fox is a one-woman-winemaking machine! A lot of the canopy work in her vineyards is carried out personally and in solitude by Kelley herself, including the biodynamic sprays - the wines are touched only by Kelley. This 2018 Pinot Gris was 100% destemmed and fermented in two 1.5 ton fermentors. One pigeage (foot-treading) happened each day. About 18 days of skin contact occurred before the wine was pressed at dryness. Élevage was in a uterine-shaped concrete amphora tank.
