Handmade by IFUJI, a skilled woodcraft studio led by craftsman Masashi Ifuji, these wooden Oval Boxes follow the original templates and techniques used by the Shakers of 19th-century colonial America. IFUJI’s boxes are made entirely by hand, with the wood being boiled, shaped, and dried in a mold for two days, which gives each box its unique characteristics.

Originally, Shaker boxes were used for storing sewing and quilting tools or dry foods in the kitchen, but today, their uses are limitless.

There are three sizes available: size 3, 4 and 5, sold individually.

To maintain, gently rub the box with soft dry cloth to get the beautiful shine. Keep out of direct sunlight.

ABOUT THE MAKER
IFUJI is a woodcraft tablewares and homewares brand and studio founded by a Japanese designer and craftsman Masashi Ifuji in Matsumoto in Nagao prefecture. 
Mr Ifuji started making these classic oval boxes (or pantry boxes) in 2005 using the original templates and traditional techniques used by The Shakers which they had used since the 19th century. His boxes are crafted the traditional way, by boiling the wood, shaping it, and allowing it to dry in a mold for two days. IFUJI's boxes are all made by hand, ensuring their unique characteristics.
