The Universal Audio Volt 276 Recording Studio brings 2-in/2-out flexibility with 24-bit/192 kHz audio conversion, UA’s Vintage mic mode, and an analog 76 Compressor on each input for fast, musical control at the source. Two XLR combo preamps on the front handle mic, line, or Hi-Z instrument signals with 48 V phantom power when condensers are in play. Vintage mode applies a 610-style preamp curve that adds gentle harmonic lift and smoother transients, useful on voice, DI bass, and acoustic instruments when you want presence without harshness.

Compression is hardware simple. Flip the 76 switch and choose preset behavior tailored for vocals, guitar, or quick peak control. It evens levels on the way into the DAW so you spend less time wrangling thresholds later. A large Monitor knob and dedicated Phones level keep gain staging obvious, while direct monitoring blends live input with DAW return for near-zero-latency cue mixes. Metering is clear, per-channel gain is grabbable, and the front panel avoids menu fishing.

Rear-panel I/O covers daily studio needs. Balanced line outputs feed powered monitors or an outboard chain. MIDI In/Out connects controllers and synths without a separate interface. USB-C keeps the footprint clean with bus power for mobile rigs, and optional external power is available when peripherals demand it. The metal chassis with wooden side cheeks is compact and durable enough for a backpack, yet looks at home on a desk.

Leave Vintage and 76 off for a transparent path that loves plug-ins, or engage either when you need instant polish. If the brief is a dependable 2-in/2-out with real analog seasoning on demand, Volt 276 makes it hard to blame your tools.

Don’t bother, not worth the $
Much smaller in person than it appears. Looks more like a piece of coral than a tree. I got this to display some ornaments for sale at craft fairs, but it’s so small, it looks silly with the ornaments on it. Super flimsy, made of cheap plastic. Definitely not worth $14. Will be returning.
