Strawberry - Fresh - Bitter orange

Winemaker Jean Maupertuis is based in the Auvergne, central France, with 3.8 hectares of vineyards, mostly planted with old Gamay d’Auvergne. Jean maintains these all himself, hand pruning and picking, and always upholding organic practices. He has a small plot of younger Beaujolais Gamay, which he uses for this cult pet nat. Slightly off dry and with the mere hint of blush, this has refreshing acidity and ripe strawberry flavours, with unexpected notes of amaro-esque bitter orange and pink grapefruit. Fermented with native yeasts, unfiltered and unfined, no additional sulphites. A true summer essential.
