Description

Ladies of Troyesis a mean game. The central premise is dice placement rolling dice and using the results to assign actions. The big snag is that other players can buy your dice and you cannot refuse their offer. That lovely six you had all those plans for? Gone because I wanted it, not because I needed it, but because it will annoy you! Actually, that doesn't often happen as buying dice costs money and money can be in short supply so if I buy a die you can bet I need

is a mean game. The central premise is dice placement - rolling dice and using the results to assign actions. The big snag is that other players can buy your dice and you cannot refuse their offer. That lovely six you had all those plans for? Gone because I wanted it, not because I needed it, but because it will annoy you! Actually, that doesn't often happen as buying dice costs money and money can be in short supply so if I buy a die you can bet I need it. Also, by taking one of your dice I'm leaving mine available for you to buy...
Add to that interesting use for your dice, a surprisingly quick play time where you actually get to do loads of cool stuff and Troyes was a real winner. Step forward the Ladies of Troyes, a modular expansion for the base game.
There are five modules of varying size and complexity to add into the base game. The first adds new Character cards. Character cards are the end game scoring of Troyes. Each player gets one card at the start of the game, which they keep hidden but this card scores for everyone! Module Two contains more activity cards, nine of these appear in every game and provide various options for your dice.
Module Three presents evil event cards that must be combated by at least one player. The fourth module is great, although it is simply a purple die for each player. This die cannot be used by any other player even if they want to, and can be used as a wild for placement purposes. This is great to use for initial games as it makes Troyes a tad more friendly!
Lastly, Module Five adds some different types of activity cards that are added to the board on the ramparts of the existing board design. This provides a new way of getting bonus actions should you be shut out on the board.
All in all, this is a great expansion. It mainly focuses on making the game a little more friendly to newcomers without simplifying things. If you love Troyes this is a no brainer.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.
