Volga’s might and beauty remain unchanged, and this design is dedicated to the river of her childhood and happy memories of this special place of the world.
Volga is a tubular shawl/cowl hybrid, there is no cast on or bind off and no long rows. Simple increases, decreases and basic lace shape this fluid piece. Similarly to the river it’s named after, this is a large shawl. Gauge is not crucial but will affect the finished size. Whatever needle size you use, make sure you get a good drape but not a floppy fabric.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Merino Light by Colour Adventures (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 115g/475yds): 2 Skeins. Shown in Dusk. This Yarn has been discontinued. Please select from the following choices.
ALTERNATE YARN: Sock by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/440yds): 2 Skeins. This squishy and soft Superwash Merino yarn is from Uruguay, one of the top producers of merino worldwide. Malabrigo is #1 because of their striking kettle-dyed colors which range from subtle variegation to striking color shifts.
ALTERNATE YARN: O-Wash Fingering by O-Wool (100% Washable Organic Merino Wool; 100g/428 yds): 2 Skeins. This environmentally friendly yarn is processed in low-impact dyes and a special GOTS certified process that creates a washable wool without the harsh treatments of traditional superwashes. This South American wool is dyed in the North Eastern USA in solid/tonal colorways. PRE-ORDER available in all colors. Please allow 7 business days for shipping to your location.
