Beautiful Georgian style vintage Sofa, originally from Georges on Collins Street.This vintage sofa is a high end piece, originally from Georges of Collins Street, the iconic department store in Melbourne which closed its doors in 1995. It is of Georgian style, featuring a gorgeous elephant design on the fabric, rolled arms, piping, and a stretcher base. This vintage sofa is a high end piece, originally from Georges of Collins Street, the iconic department store in Melbourne which closed its doors in 1995.

It is of Georgian style, featuring a gorgeous elephant design on the fabric, rolled arms, piping, and a stretcher base. It is structurally sound, and the cushion inserts are down filled so they are super comfortable & they plump up beautifully. There is some dipping to the base of each seat (see image), which I can only assume is meant to be as the fabric is not stretchy & there are no seam breaks, plus when the seat cushions are in place there is no sagging & they are sturdy to sit on. The upholstery is intact with no marks or worn out areas, and fading is minimal. The sofa has been very well looked after over the decades by its one previous owner.
