THE REST IS HISTORY CLUB BOOK OF THE MONTH 'One of the most engaging and fascinating histories of Europe I've read for years.' DOMINIC SANDBROOK'Highly original and insightful' PD SMITH, GUARDIAN'Thrillingly unique, knowledgeable, perceptive and profound' IAN DUNTThe history of Europe told through twenty-nine key borders that define the past, present and future of our continentEurope's internal borders have rarely been 'natural'; they have more often been created by accident or force. In Borderlines, political historian Lewis Baston journeys along twenty-nine key borders from west to east Europe, examining how the map of our continent has been redrawn over the last century, with varying degrees of success. The fingerprints of Napoleon, Alexander I, Castlereagh, Napoleon III and Bismarck are all there, but today's map of Europe is mostly the work of the Allies in 1919 and Stalin in 1945.To journey to the centre of the story of Europe, Baston takes us to its edges, bringing to life the fascinating and often bizarre histories of these border zones. We visit Baarle, the town broken into thirty fragments by the Netherland-Belgium border, and stop in Ostritz, the eastern German town where Nazis held a rock festival. We meander the back lanes of rural Ireland, and soak up the atmosphere in the coffee houses of the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi. Through these borderlands, Baston explores how places and people heal from the scars left by a Europe of ethnic cleansing and barbed wire fences,

Great Sound, Stunning RGB, and Easy to Use
Style: QuadCast S
I’ve been using the HyperX Quad Cast S for streaming and calls, and I’m very happy with the performance. The sound quality is clear and professional, and the built-in shock mount and pop filter are nice touches. The tap-to-mute feature on top is super convenient, and the RGB lighting looks amazing on my desk.
Setup was plug-and-play with no issues on Windows, and the adjustable polar patterns give me flexibility depending on how I’m using it.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the software (NGENUITY) is a bit limited—it mainly controls the lighting, not the audio settings. Also, it's very sensitive, so make sure you're in a quiet environment.
Overall, highly recommend this mic for streamers, podcasters, or anyone wanting great USB mic quality with a touch of style.

Crisp mic
Style: QuadCast 2 S
A great mic. Captures my voice with crisp quality. My only grievance is having to set how much it picks up every single time I use it.

Fantastic USB Mic for Gaming, Podcasts & Content
Style: QuadCast S
I’m really happy with this HyperX QuadCast S USB microphone, it delivers clear, rich audio whether I’m streaming, recording podcasts, or chatting with friends. The RGB lighting is a fun visual feature that adds personality to my setup, and I love that it’s customizable via software.
The built-in shock mount and pop filter help reduce background noise and bumps, so my recordings sound much cleaner without needing extra accessories. The tap-to-mute sensor and LED indicator are super convenient for quick control during streams or meetings.
It’s also very easy to set up, just plug in with the included USB-C cable and you’re ready to go on PC, PS4, PS5, or Mac. The multiple polar pattern options give flexibility depending on what I’m recording, and overall the mic feels solid and high quality.
This makes a great gift for any creator, streamer, or podcast host, both functional and stylish. Highly recommend!

It's fantastic. It's just not quite perfect.
Color: Black, Size: Full Size
Update after almost 2 years of ownership:
I've gotten very used the the height of the full height keyboard wrist rest. I can't go back to a smaller one. It's super comfortable. I bought a second one for work and 2 mouse wrist rests to go along. All of them are built fantastically. They clean easily. If something happened to one of the ones I already have, I would come straight back here to buy another of the same one. On point #2 in my original review below, I still wish the edges weren't tapered so much, but I have gotten used to it. I gave in and offset the wrist rest from the keyboard. Not ideal, but it gets the job done.
Bottom line: would recommend any time.
Original review:
The build quality is good. The fabric is nice and soft. The bottom keeps it from sliding. It seems great, overall. I have only 2 problems with this thing:
1. It's too thick. I should have gone with the thinner one. Maybe it'll wear out a bit and my hands will lower into a position with which I'm more comfortable.
2. The left and right sides taper off. It's fine that the front and back do, but having the sides tapered means that if I center this along the bottom of my keyboard and rest my hands to type, my left hand is partially sloping off to the left side, off of the rest. Obviously this is easily fixed by sliding the rest to the left of center, but I've got a compulsion about things lining up and this really really digs into my brain badly.
