Vintage Omani Amulet Mounted in SilverThis is a vintage Omani amulet featuring what looks like a black hard tree thorn mounted in silver that has been embossed in beautiful patterns. Holding the thorn in place is resin like or wax material. Such amulets would be worn in a necklace, protecting the wearer from harm much as thorns protect a plant. The amulet is probably from the early 20th century and is in good vintage condition. The thorn's tip is broken and the thorn has tiny holes.
