Pretty Good
Format: Paperback
This was a pretty good story. Attempted to be deep; Tony's sense of responsibility for his tech, his people and the world around him. It came through alright but could have used more in-depth discriptions of Tony's "Five Nightmares". Also could have gone deeper into the mind of Ezekiel Stane; his grudge against Tony just didn't do it for me. This in sorta the way mainstream comics have gone today; not too wordy. But Matt Fraction brings puts it together well enough. He is one of my favorite writers in the business today. My one real problem was the art. No sir, I didn't like it. The faces, to be exact. All of the men were so dark (and this is coming from a Black guy) and inconsistant from frame to frame. But Pepper Potts and Maria Hill (who should have been darker) were fair complected. Just weird, for some reason. The final issue in the trade paper back actually brings the whole thing home and it has a amazing guest star. I say pick the book up. Especially if you're a fan of the movies and have never read a comic.

Old friends, new enemies
Format: Kindle
One of the things I enjoy about the Iron Man books is their focus on intelligent applications. Cosmic powers have only a little play here, mostly for the villains. Tony Stark out thinks his opponents, and comes at them from angles they didn't anticipate. Even if they are upcoming types!

Fabulous Iron Man Title
Format: Paperback
One of the best recent Iron Man titles. Fraction takes a rather well-tread idea (i.e. Iron Man facing off against a knock-off, tech-based baddie) and turns it into a solid character study of Tony Stark and his titular five nightmares. The art work is great during the action scenes although Larroca's faces always look a tad off, especially in the early issues. Overall a fantastic story that brings the movie influences on the character into the comics while also exploring exactly what it is that makes Iron Man such a great character. Also, the collection includes the amazing post-Civil War epilogue wherein Spider-Man tries to console a worn down Iron Man despite the recent rifts between them.

Long time comic book reader impressed with Iron Man
Format: Kindle
I have been reading comics for years but more along the lines of Vertigo and other independent books. I read 'Extremis" prior to seeing Iron Man 3 and was impressed with the story and art. This is a good read with interesting tech and scifi angles but with adult themes. I like my comic books to be more in line with real world consequences and moral conflicts. I did not feel lost not having been a long time fan of Iron Man but I did enjoy this read. I will be exploring some additional trades in the future as the character is starting to grow on me. Give it a try, the worst that could happen is that you will be midly entertained.

One Great Read
Format: Paperback
The amazing thing about this Trade Paperback is that both long time fans and new readers can enjoy it. It's the perfect jumping on point for fans of the film that have never read an Iron Man comic in their lives. It's also an instant classic story that long time readers will savor. They captured the flavor, depth and character of Tony Stark perfectly. The artwork is remarkable and the story is guaranteed not to disappoint. Highly recommended!
