As its designation suggests, the symphonie concertante is a hybrid genre that draws on both the symphony and concerto traditions. In the eighteenth century the symphonie concertante assumed two broad styles: a work that was fundamentally symphonic in conception but with important obbligato parts for two or more instruments, or a work that was in most respects indistinguishable from a concerto with multiple soloists in its retention of the characteristic hybrid sonata-ritornello structure. Saint Georges favoured the second approach, perhaps because as a virtuoso himself he felt instinctively more drawn to the concerto than the symphony. Both types of work, however, frequently differ from their models in their cyclic structures and in France, where the symphonies concertante enjoyed great popularity, it is common to find two-movement works rather than works in three or four movements. These two-movement symphonies concertantes typically have a conventional first movement followed by a rondo with no intervening slow movement. The two symphonies concertantes, Op.9 are excellent examples of this type of work but, as Op.10 No.1  demonstrates, Saint-Georges occasionally abandons the rondo second movement in favour of a brisk, finale using a truncated sonata-ritornello structure. The solo writing in the symphonies concertantes is challenging and shows little evidence of Saint-Georges’ concern to accommodate players less skilled than himself.

These shoes were perfect! Cute design
Spent more than I typically would on shoes to get a quality pair for a trip. Needed a dependable shoe that would be waterproof for hiking and exploring the often wet climate and terrain. These shoes were perfect! Cute design. Very comfortable. Fit as expected. Kept my feet warm and dry. Good for hiking as well as walking the streets of the little towns we explored. I'm glad I invested in these boots!

Chic Comfort
I really enjoy these boots. Excellent for wet muddy city streets! The slip on version are a bit narrow when it comes to putting them on. I wear a size 8 and ordered 8.5 for extra room , but they were too long. I think if you have wide feet these may not be too comfortable. Overall a good leather shoe. No water sipped through while wearing.

Need breaking in, but awesome quality
I was a little worried when I first got these- my feet are a little wider than normal, but not wide enough to need wide width. They were quite snug the first few times I wore them, but after some breaking in they fit PERFECT. I did have to go up a half size from my normal 7 to a 7.5, but these boots are fantastic and I can tell I have them for a long time!

Get these! You won't regret it!
These are my go-to winter shoes! They are waterproof- I love them bc they don't look like your typical "rainboots"! Stylish- I get compliments everytime I wear them! Comfortable- first time I wore them they were tight through the middle of my foot, but after two wears I had them nice and broke in, now my most comfortable shoes!

So nice but not a good fit on my foot
I love these boots so much, they’re exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, they are too big in the heel and flop, while too tight in the toe. I know the toe would stretch with wear, but can’t deal with a floppy heel, they pulled my socks down off my feet. I do have narrow feet. Too bad, I’m so disappointed! They seem well made and would go with everything. Comfortable, too, if they fit right.
