One of the most visually stunning furniture timbers available, Blackwood has also become an important tonewood. Most of the Blackwood comes from the Otway Ranges in Victoria, Australia. It often displays "fiddleback" character and "AAA" grade Blackwood can be intensely figured. It has a warm, full tone with a particularly pleasing mid frequency response and has become one of the most sought after timbers. It may be of interest to learn, that whenever a Maton employee gets to make their own guitar, they almost always choose Blackwood.

It is used in nearly every Maton either as a neck, back & sides, or internal component.

The AP5 Pro Pickup System includes a separate microphone and piezo pickup, both of which can be blended via their individual controls. The microphone is direct mounted to the preamp casing via an adjustable arm, which permits easy final tweaking of microphone position to suit the individual artists style.

This Pre-Owned 2014 Maton 808 Artist is in Great Condition with no play wear or fret wear. It has a stain on the top of the guitar on the lower bout from the case as well as one very small crack on the top that has been cleated. We have attempted to capture this in the detialed photos below.
