Madrone Log Md84 3.3" x 3.4" x 6.8" 2.6 lbs. This is a bark-on Madrona log spindle that is ready for you to turn or carve. This piece was harvested from a living Pacific Madrone tree growing on San Juan Island, Washington. We manage our Madrone sustainably and prune as needed for forest health. This piece was end-grain sealed immediately after harvesting. This is a GREEN to partially air-dried blank, meaning that it retains moisture from when it was a living tree. It has been well-sealed with Anchor Seal and is in the process of slowly drying. It was measured at >35% moisture content in December 2023.If you need a current moisture content, please message us so that we can check its status for you. It is common for fine cracks to open as these blanks dry, despite being sealed. If you do have a visible crack, fill it with CA glue or epoxy resin prior to turning. |

Opens the can weird, but functional

Ehhh it’s easy to use and gets it open, my only issue is that it doesn’t open a can like a regular can opener where it is cut on top of the can and you can push it in the can to drain if needed. Rather it cuts the outside of the can as it spins around, so it doesn’t fit inside the can. Not very handy when you’re opening a can of tuna and want to drain the tuna juice, so I had to keep my manual one, that I was trying to get rid of by buying this electric one 🙃

I've only used it a few times since it arrived and it works great. Much better than the hand cranking can opener I've been using. It's a little loud, but that's not enough of a deterrent for me to stop using it. The noise is a temporary annoyance that I'll gladly put up with to have a can opener that actually completely opens a can.

Injured finger from use

Just used the product for the first time today. Beware, it does work but it cut my daughter’s finger open really bad because it made the edge of the can stringy and she cut her finger on it. Be careful.
