Cobaltoan calcite, also known as Cobalt Calcite, or Aphrodite Stone is a rare form of calcite. It was first discovered in Tuscany, Italy. Since then it has only been found in a handful of locations including Congo and Switzerland. This aprticularly piece comes from The Democratic Republis of COngo, where some of the brightest and most lustrious Cobaltoan Calcite is found.
