We're sinking our teeth in on this Gibson Custom Shop 1959 ES-355 in a cool VOS pelham blue finish. This Custom Shop piece, straight from our friends over in Nashville, is extensively outfitted for a premier ES experience with playability and tone as primary priorities. For players who love their semi-hollows and all the extravagance they champion, this is a Gibson Custom piece to impress.

With the Custom Shop's keen eye for the details as well as their vision of the big picture, this ES-355 model assembles with impact and authority. This all starts with a semi-hollow ES-355 body brought together through a three-ply laminate maple/poplar/maple construction. Wrapped with a seven-ply black and white binding on its top and a five-ply binding on its back, this ES-355's body is a dream to hold in hand and a visual stunner. These aesthetics are bolstered by the model's unique diamond-shaped F-holes that give the overall presentation a little bit of geometric edge.

This Custom Shop creation is lined within with red spruce bracing and a maple centerblock. Fashioned to impart balance and concision while eliminating feedback, these features make for an airtight electric and acoustic experience, so play confidently knowing this ES has your back.

Moving forward, we have a mahogany neck joining in on the equation. This neck, shaped in a 1959 ES-335 C-Shape profile, plays with a comfortably full grip and striking precision, measuring .874" at the first fret and .957" at the twelfth. A one-piece ebony fingerboard then enters the fray for an articulate fretting experience. Jescar FW45100 (Medium Jumbo Reissue) fret wire makes up this ES-355's frets, punching in for a smooth and comfortable feel across the fingers. For an additional visual signature, this ebony board features non-tapered block inlays, matching the diamond F-holes for a geometric motif.

This Custom Shop ES-355 loads up with a powerful set of electronics. Two underwound, unpotted Custombucker humbucking pickups summon heaps of humbucker heat to play in any variety of genres. Roll back these pickups' power for aloof riffage or punch it to the limit and show their searing tonal capabilities. Their pairing with the model's semi-hollow body make the overall experience of this ES-355 a lush and expressive one.

Playability and tone on this Gibson Custom are enhanced by a solid hardware setup. Across this model, you'll find sturdy hardware specifications to best enable your own style of playing and keep everything in check session after session. A nickel-plated notched No-Wire ABR-1 Historic bridge matches with a nickel-plated aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece for grounding strings stably at the base of the scale. At the scale's opposite end, nickel-plated Grover 102NM tuning machines land with kidney buttons for simple and sturdy stringing. This Gibson Custom Shop travels with an included hardshell case.

Great for organizing sink

We had one of those suction cup sponge holders, but if you have tile that is not completely smooth, it falls down. This does not have that issue because it just sits on the counter or if you have a large sink lip, on there.
