Big K.R.I.T.’s A Style Not Quite Free hits the wax in all its unapologetic Southern glory, finally giving this 2021 mixtape the deluxe double-LP treatment it deserves. Known for his sharp lyricism and soulful production, K.R.I.T. takes listeners on a ride that feels both raw and refined, with his Mississippi roots woven into every beat.

The project features highlights like “So Cool,” where laid-back swagger meets playful bars, and “What’s the Price,” a reflective track that blends introspection with head-nodding groove. K.R.I.T. balances high-energy anthems with slower, more contemplative cuts, showcasing his dual talents as both a confident MC and a producer with a knack for soulful instrumentation.

Spread across two heavyweight vinyl records, the sound gets room to breathe, offering the warm, full-bodied playback that digital streaming just can’t match. This pressing lets fans experience the depth of K.R.I.T.’s production, from the subtle layering of samples to the deep bass that rattles with purpose. It’s the kind of record that begs to be played loud, windows down, with nothing but good vibes in the air.

For longtime fans, A Style Not Quite Free represents K.R.I.T.’s ability to stay true to his underground roots while still pushing his artistry forward. For newcomers, it’s an open invitation to step into his world of Southern rap storytelling. Either way, this 2LP pressing is a must-have addition to any hip-hop vinyl collection.

Unexpectedly awesome
Format: Paperback
After reading the first chapter, I was expecting a Demon Slayer clone. I should have known better, given the author! The story took a twist and I am all in. Great action and humor so far. Can't wait for the next one!

AN Interesting Genre Blend
Format: Paperback
Well, this is a weird one (in a good way...I think). 47 heroes are selected, one for each of the demon kings. The heroes are sent out to destroy the demon kings and regain the world back for humanity. It's a bit bleak though...The 11th hero is in a rut, but a strange group with specialized weapons (firearms as opposed to swords) comes and obliterates a group of demons. Has the call been answered? While they may think that, the group has actually sought them for aid to fight against these AI robots that have taken over humanity. Can the two groups help each others worlds across dimensions? This manga offers an interesting genre blend of fantasy and futuristic technology. The art is great, as expected of the mangaka of One Punch Man, and some of the characters are certainly more intriguing than others. This is definitely a fun action-packed manga that fits the shounen genre.
