Corks is a party game by Gingerfox Games, and it's all about lightning quick reactions! Anywhere between three to fourteen people can join in the madness. This makes Corks an ideal ice-breaker for any kind of party! The great thing is that the game is so simple to play - it has a suggested age of 6+ and older. You can teach it in 30 seconds! The game comes with a whole bunch of different-coloured corks. Place as many corks in the centre of the table as there are players... minus one. Go through the deck of cork cards. Pick out four coloured cork cards for each of the coloured corks you have on the table. Add in four extra cards (as if there were an extra cork). Then shuffle these cards together, and deal out four cards to each player. Everyone looks at their secret hand of cork cards. The aim is collect four cork cards of the same colour, in a set collection fashion. Assuming this isn't the case from the deal, in a simultaneous manner, everyone passes one card to their left. (So in turn, they'll receive a card from their right.) This is card drafting at its purest. You'll keep doing this until someone eventually has a set of four same-colour corks...Then that player grabs a cork from the middle of the table. Everyone else then has to grab a cork for themselves, in a chaotic, slap-dash scrabble! Like 'Musical Chairs', there's one less cork on the table than there are players, so one player gets eliminated. You remove a cork and its corresponding four cards. Shuffle the deck, and deal the cards out and go again! You'll play until there's only two players left in a grand old cork-off!Corks comes with some extra variants, too. All present the same crux of cork-grabbing and set collection, but with a twist. Make sure you warn those in a close vicinity, when playing this... Corks is not a quiet game!Player Count: 3-14 PlayersTime: 20-30 minutesAge: 6+

Masterful biography and history of the birth of the Red Power movement.
Format: Hardcover
Kent Blansett has broken much new ground with his masterful biography of the charismatic Richard Oakes. The book is also an astute and insightful account of the birth and rise of the Red Power Movement and the occupation of Alcatraz. Scholarly but written in an accessible style, this book will appeal to all readers.

Native American history at its best!
Format: Hardcover
Kent Blansett's engrossing story about the life & times of the famed Mohawk activist Richard Oakes is Native American history at its best. I appreciated the well-written context provided about the birth, growth and impact of the Red Power Movement and the pivotal role that social justice activism played in the rise of modern Indian nations in the United States today. This scholarly work helps us understand modern Native America and is a "must-read" for every Native American Studies student and scholar, as well as readers interested in important American social justice movements.
