Origin/Distribution: 'Honorine Jobert' was discovered in France in 1858. The species is native to central China, Nepal, northeast India, Tibet, Taiwan, and Myanmar. It has naturalized in Japan, Czechoslovakia, Ecuador, and Germany and was misidentified as a Japanese native, hence the common name. 

Habitat: The species is found growing on grassy slopes, stream edges, and scrublands

More: This is a beautiful and robust perennial. The white blooms light up the fall garden and it makes a good cut flower. 

Even More: Anemones have been cultivated in China since at least the 17th Century and probably a lot longer than that (Tang Dynasty, 7th-10th Century). They are strong growers and will spread if happy. They are deer and rabbit resistant, salt tolerant, floriferous, long bloomers, a late season nectar source, and a good cut flower. But, they will take a couple of seasons to really show their stuff, so be patient.
