The Fender Custom Shop has long been known for making some of the finest instruments in the world and this Fender Custom Shop '57 Stratocaster is yet another stunning example. Featuring era-specific attention to detail with some modern playability upgrades sure to elate any fan of the Stratocaster.
This guitar is crafted with a two-piece alder body in a pristine 2-Color Sunburst NOS finish. The thin-skinned nitrocellulose lacquer used breathes more like a vintage instrument and enhances resonation of the body.
The parchment guard is bedecked with a trio of hand-wound Custom Shop '57 Strat pickups with a reverse-wound/reverse polarity middle pickup for noise-free operation when used in conjunction with the neck or bridge pickups. Everything is wired together with Fender's Fat '50s wiring for modern output levels and a bit of fatness to the low end.
The maple neck is smooth and glossy the whole way up and sports a comfortably-hand-filling '57 style soft "V" profile that measures 0.850" at the first fret, and 0.990" at the twelfth. The fretboard has been spec'd out with a 9.5" radius for more modern playability and is loaded up with 21 6105 frets—a Fender fan favorite.
