Dark events are afoot at Hogwarts, a student has gone missing and it is up to the players to figure out who did it, what spell they used and where the attack took place before racing to Dumbledore's office to make their final accusation, beware, dark forces are working against the players to keep them from victory. The board will move to change the secret passageway, open doors, reveal the dark mark or get some help from the help deck. Unlike the original Cluedo, in Harry Potter Cluedo a player can win or all the players can lose when the bad guys win. House points rate how the players can lose and when the dark mark is revealed, unless the player has a help card, will lose house points, when a player has no house points left they are out of the game! Harry Potter Cluedo comes with the help deck and the dark deck. The help deck consists of items, allies and spells that will protect and aid the players towards victory, whereas, when the dark mark is revealed the dark deck will come into play in certain places around Hogwarts and may affect the players, maybe even causing them to be out of the game!
