We had climbed a mountain and crossed a pass; been wet, cold, hungry, frightened, and withal happy. One more Himalayan season was over. It was time to begin thinking of the next. â€Strenuousness is the immortal path, sloth is the way of death.’ First published in 1946, the scope of H.W. â€Bill’ Tilman’s When Men & Mountains Meet is broad, covering his disastrous expedition to the Assam Himalaya, a small exploratory trip into Sikkim, and then his wartime heroics. In the thirties, Assam was largely unknown and unexplored. It proved a challenging environment for Tilman’s party, the jungle leaving the men mosquito-bitten and suffering with tropical diseases, and thwarting their mountaineering success. Sikkim proved altogether more successful. Tilman, who is once again happy and healthy, enjoys some exploratory ice climbing and discovers Abominable Snowman tracks, particularly remarkable as the creature appeared to be wearing boots—â€there is no reason why he should not have picked up a discarded pair at the German Base Camp and put them to their obvious use.’ And then, in 1939, war breaks out. With good humour and characteristic understatement we hear about Tilman’s remarkable Second World War. After digging gun pits on the Belgian border and in Iraq, he was dropped by parachute behind enemy lines to fight alongside Albanian and Italian partisans. Tilman was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for his efforts—and the keys to the city of Belluno, which he

Best sim kitchen sink caddy that still holds everything needed!
Color: Black
I needed a slimmer sponge caddy, that could still hold my bottle brushes & extra sponges because my sink ledge isn't that wide... The rest of the ones I found were about 5 in, I needed this one that was only 3 in deep... Pitch perfectly and holds quite a bit. It's so worth it even if it rusts I'll buy another one! It looks great, study, drains water good, and the height is enough to hold my bottle brushes without them falling over. Does exactly what it's supposed to 😘

Attractive and works great. Be sure to clean the suction cups and sink before using!

I have wanted a sponge holder to put inside my sink for a while now. I wanted something attactive and I wanted it to work as it should. Seemed reasonable until I started looking and reading reviews. The biggest complaint appeared to be that these sponge holders do not stay attached to the sink. The reviews for this particular holder were great. Customers stressed cleaning the suction cups and sink before using. I am really glad they did because holder arrived in the packaging with zero instructions. Because I read the reviews I knew what to do and it worked! I am very pleased with this sponge holder. It is attractive, it feels really sturdy and it stays on the side of stainless steel sink just fine.

Pretty; sturdy; perfect size

Nice, sturdy little sponge and brush holder for the side of the sink. I was afraid my sink would me too small and spent lots of time trying to find a holder for the rim/countertop area. This one is not too big but fits my dobie and brillo perfectly. My sink is a little too short for a full fledged brush so when I tried to put in the brush I use sometimes it sticks up too much. That's really not the products fault so I won't subtract the score because of it. Also, I decided to put the holder flush against the side closest to me, instead of the side or the back of the sink. If I had chosen that location, the brush sticking out might not be an issue.

Yes the suction works on stainless steel!!
Style: Contempo
I've been through many rag holders before including a magnetic one, which broke. But the suction on this sucker (pun intended) is top notch! It doesn't slide around or come off or slide to the bottom of the sink. It just stays put which is so unique for anything with suction cups. The only reason i am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is quite small. I wish it were a few inches longer so i could easily fit two rags or sponges in the holder. But i have to jam them in and its not pretty. So for the price, i think it should have been bigger. Still a good product because of the functionality of the suction cups.
