RÉSUMÉ: Dans une petite ville de banlieue américaine, le mystérieux David Lincoln ouvre un musée de cire consacré aux monstres légendaires issus du folklore fantastique. Un groupe d'étudiants est invité par le propriétaire à une visite nocturne des lieux. Une fois à l'intérieur, les jeunes découvrent les scènes reproduisant les forfaits de ces créatures, sans se douter que chacune d'entre elles est en réalité un portail dimensionnel conduisant à leur repaire. Lincoln compte bien ramener à la vie chacune de ces entités maléfiques et sacrifier, dans ce but, ses visiteurs…
A PROPOS DU FILM: Pour son premier long métrage, Anthony Hickox (Sundown) rend un hommage vibrant aux monstres de la Universal. Vampire, loup-garou, momie, zombi et fantôme de l’opéra sont ainsi les vedettes de ce musée de cire très particulier. Waxwork, film d'horreur distillant une bonne dose d'humour noir et bénéficiant d'effets spéciaux spectaculaires, ouvre grand ses portes à Patrick Macnee (Chapeau melon et bottes de cuir), David Warner (C'était demain), Zach Galligan (Gremlins) et Dana Ashbrook (Twin Peaks).
