Crafted for bassists who demand performance, precision, and versatility, the Yamaha TRBX505 brings thoughtful design and modern features together in a premium five-string instrument. Built with a sculpted mahogany body, the TRBX505 offers the foundation of a high-performance bass that feels balanced and solid whether played seated or standing. Yamaha’s longstanding attention to ergonomics is evident in the body contouring.
The 5-piece neck, a laminate of maple and mahogany, is paired with a rosewood fingerboard and a 600mm radius to ensure consistent hand placement and clear note articulation across all five strings. Medium frets and a standard 34-inch scale length provide a familiar and playable feel, while covered die-cast tuners and a die-cast bridge allows for accurate tuning, intonation, and sustain.
Electronics are where the TRBX505 truly opens up. Outfitted with a pair of Alnico V double-coil pickups, this model is wired for tonal flexibility. The instrument includes active 3-band EQ controls for Bass, Mid, and Treble adjustments, in addition to Volume and Pickup Balance knobs. An active/passive toggle switch lets you move between high-headroom active tones and more traditional passive sounds instantly, with no tonal sacrifice.
Murdered out with a translucent black satin finish and all-black hardware, the TRBX505 presents as sleek as it sounds and is designed to meet the demands of gigging musicians and recording artists alike.
