This Custom Shop Factory Exclusive D-18 lays it out first with its principle tonewood: black walnut. A domestically-sourced wood, this selection of black walnut forms the basis for this guitar's D-14Fret body. The authority of this Custom Shop's D-14Fret body is enhanced by the rich resonance of the black walnut for a bold tonal profile. The black walnut back and sides are accompanied by a spruce top lined with scalloped standard spruce braces for a concise and balanced projection. Altogether creating a classic Martin voice, this body is lined with European flamed maple bindings that add up to an impressive visual sum.

This Custom Shop experience continues on with a 12/4 genuine mahogany neck cut in a Modified Low Oval profile with a High Performance neck taper. Designed for a classic Martin feel with a more prominent height and shoulder, this neck offers a full and firm grip in hand.
