Mesquite Block M1180 2.5" x 2.5" x 11.4" 2.3 lbs. This is a gnarly and fun block of Texas Honey Mesquite. We've cut this block to highlight its complexity of grain and for its very nice (and challenging!) structure. This piece would be well-suited for epoxy work. This is a GREEN to partially air-dried blank, meaning that it still retains a lot of its original moisture from when it was a living tree. It has been well-sealed with Anchor Seal and is in the process of slowly drying. It was heat-treated to kill off any hungry critters that may have been burrowing inside. It was measured at 15% MC in August 2022. If you need a current moisture content, please message us and we'll check its status for you. Please scroll through the photos to see close-ups --- you may need to scroll down within the photo section as we often show more than three photos. There are cracks and vugs galore in this block. We recommend it for an experienced turner, with plenty of CA glue at hand. It has potential to produce an exceptional turning. About the Tree This Texas-grown Honey Mesquite tree was harvested in El Campo, Texas in July of 2022. It was cut down by the city for reasons unknown to us, and we were happy to help save the tree from a burn pile. It is possible that this tree was damaged by the Valentine's Day Freeze that Texas suffered in February 2021, which is when our state lost a lot of beautiful trees in an unusually deep and long freeze. |

Unethical book
Format: Paperback
Had to get this book for a required class. This book is unreadable. It is written in an outdated language of old philosophers. The book itself if unethical. It starts out with one inch margins then once you get into it they switch to half inch margins. That's deceitful. Everyone I have talked to in the class can't stand the book. l read it because I have to, but I'm not getting anything out of it. Humanity is certainly lacking ethics these days, but this book is a waste of my time and if I'm struggling reading it, I doubt anyone who actually needs to read this book will make it through more than a page.
