In tribute to the legacy of the guitarist, the MXR Randy Rhoads Special Edition Distortion+ arrives as an exceptional encapsulation of the rock legend. Designed in collaboration with the Rhoads family, this slick, black Distortion+ embodies decades of a classic rock legacy in the making.

Randy Rhoads, famed guitarist for legendary acts Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne, made a distinct mark on the history of popular rock music in only a few short years. His classically-inspired passages and super-saturated melodies can be heard in early Quiet Riot records and the multi-platinum-selling Blizzard of Ozz, as well as across records influenced by Rhoads contemporary to him and beyond. Rhoads, a pioneer of the virtuosic hard rock playing so famous today, can be identified in legacy across many spheres of music – including now this special edition model of his most iconic distortion.

This Special Edition Distortion+ was painstakingly recreated from the original MXR Distortion+ owned by Rhoads. With help from the Rhoads family, MXR examined and brought to life a replica of the circuitry found in Rhoads’s original Distortion+ model for fans of today to harness the same tube-like overdrive tonality made famous by Rhoads and his MXR effect. The streamlined two-dial setup famously found on the MXR Distortion+ appears here, designed to dial in faithful breakup for the best of high-octane leads and articulate riffing. This tonal package is topped off with a custom finish inspired by Rhoads’s famous white polka-dotted Flying V to deliver a fully authentic pedal. An exclusive booklet and certificate of authenticity is included with this Distortion+ model.
